eLoyalty not very Loyal

eLoyalty is a leading management consulting and systems integration organization focused exclusively on building customer loyalty. Unfortunately, they're not very loyal to their employees.

I was hired by Forrest K., to start work at eLoyalty as a contractor on August 23, 2000. I did this as an employee of A.R.C., or Alternative Resources Corporation®.

On August 31, 2000, I was told by the manager Forrest K.(also an employee of ARC at that time), that he didn't think I was going to fit in. So I was fired. Some might say I was "let go", but let's be honest. I was fired. When he told me this, I was told that I would be paid through the end of the week, meaning I'd be paid for the full week of 40 hours. That has turned out to be a lie as well.

The first lie I'd been told by Forrest was that he "wouldn't stab me in the back", that he'd always be "up front" with me on everything. Well, he can say what he wants to, telling me I "wouldn't fit in" is his 2nd lie. How can anyone say after 6 days of work, whether or not someone will "fit in". He wasn't even there for 2.5 days of the time I was there!!! Six days during which I could not even do my full job since they didn't have my phone set up, they didn't have the proper account set up for me on the server and, AND they were JUST starting to get things going on my LAST DAY!!!

Now, some might say I'm "bitter". DAMN RIGHT I'M BITTER!! I was getting paid $25.00 an hour for that job!! That would have helped me clear up a lot of my bills in a short amount of time. Now I can't even afford to buy diapers and food for my children!!* YES, I'm bitter as all hell and I'm going to tell the WHOLE WORLD!!!!

But at least I wasn't planning on stabbing my company in the back the way Forest had planned. He told me (really stupid of him to tell me) that when eLoyalty's contract with A.R.C. was up that he and all the contractors there (I was included in this at the time of our conversation) would be hired on as permanent employees of eLoyalty.

I don't know what happened since I left, but I hope the deal he was talking about fell through. Also, for those involved, may your armpits and orifices be infested by the fleas from a hundred thousand camels.

*I'm not so bad off anymore.  I moved to Michigan, and after another 18 months of struggling, I have a job now, though not making $25.00 an hour.  I am getting by.
