The move to make Toronto a separate Province

Toronto a Separate Province?

I had thought it funny a number of years ago, when I heard of some silly idea to make Cook County a separate state from Illinois. And until today (April 21, 2001) I had thought it was a separate and unique idea. Until I found the "Make Toronto a Separate Province" web page.

I guess I can understand the reasoning behind this effort. It does seem from some of the news stories that come out of Canada, that "Toronto-ites" think the universe revolves around Toronto. Or at least that Canada revolves around it.

But I guess that's not much different from Quebecois, who also think the universe revolves around Quebec.

Maybe, Ontario should get Quebec to annex Toronto!!
